TESTIMONIALS
Jack Mitchell.
As a wheelchair user, I insist on not letting my disabilities get in the way of me experiencing my love of trance music. Sometimes however it can’t be helped. This is where Raveability comes in by helping me attend difficult venues where access and facilities aren’t the most wheelchair friendly.
The biggest victory I believe for Raveability is the news of Luminosity making their venue for the annual beach festival more wheelchair friendly. For years I’ve been put off from attending Lumi by stories of wheelchairs getting stuck in sand and there being no disabled toilets. This year however (2018) disabled toilets have been added to the venue thanks to amicable discussion from Raveability and liaison with Lumi organisers.
Personally I’m still not able to attend this year due to family commitments, however it is satisfying to know that I will be able to tick #1 off my bucket list in the future. (I'm now booked up for 2019)
Raveability still has some important work to do, what sticks in my mind is Gatecrasher at Area Club in Sheffield. 4 times have I attended Crasher at that venue and only once has the lift worked properly! My friends have had to struggle carrying me and my 150kg electric wheelchair up 4 flights of stairs and I have also been turned away from Crasher at Area before due to the lift not working.
Chrissy Rees is the main face of Raveability, and I’ve always been able to ask her for advice regarding disabled accessible venues. My growing attendance at trance events over the past couple of years has been so much easier to plan thanks to her help. Now that Chrissy has made me an admin and coordinator for Raveability, I hope to return the favour and provide help and advice to people who are in a similar position to me.

I am truly thankful that organisations such as Raveability exist. They helped enable me to attend this year’s Luminosity event (LBF18), Without their help I would have succumbed to giving up or postponing yet another year.
Raveability provide the much-needed interface between music events and the disabled members of the audience. Secondly, they help assist with the logistical planning of getting there and remaining safe whilst providing both encouragement and emotional support.
Raveability are able to negotiate with event organisers to ensure the needs of the disabled guest are met, and a fair and consistent approach is provided to allow full integration into events.
Raveability are now family, they are a compassionate and caring side of humanity I didn’t know existed until I asked for help. LBF19 is now booked and hopefully get to buy Chrissy that drink! :-)
Thank you for reading.

Hi I'm Rachel.
I'm not disabled but I very recently broke my leg in an accident and I wanted to go clubbing in London. I knew about Chrissy's group Raveability, so I got in touch and asked about the stair and seating situation at Egg London (for Trance Sanctuary.)
Raveability got back to me and told me about the layout of the club and they even advised me on how to get to London without any difficulties (I didn't even think about that!) Happily from all of the detailed information I got back from the team, I decided I could travel down and go to the event :-)
As a non disabled person you don't really think about these kind of things, but believe me I did once the cast was on and those awful sticks were on my arms!
Raveability and Chrissy was a massive help and gave me all the info I would need, including a lend of a disabled loo key. Thanks Chrissy it was a lifesaver! :-)
The group was a massive help and now I'm back on 2 feet I won't be so unaware to any disabled people's difficulties when they want to go out to any venue and go clubbing!
Please support the group as you'll never know when you might need them!
Keep up the great work Chrissy & Raveability!
